So, I know that I already let the cat out of the bag on this one, but since we paid the balance due on our venue today, it seemed the appropriate time to talk about our Las Vegas Wedding Venue.
As I am sure you have already figured out, Mark and I are getting married at The Excalibur Canterbury Wedding Chapel on August 13, 2012.
The venue choice was an easy one.
One of our first ever vacations as a couple was to Las Vegas, and being the amazing girlfriend that I was, I surprised him by booking The Excalibur for two nights. He had told me early in the relationship that he always wanted to stay at Excalibur because it was a castle.
When we decided to make the trip, I couldn’t resist the chance to book the room, and when I found a deal for $35 bucks a night, I was sold.
When we arrived at Excalibur however, we were notified that the bed size we had requested (a king) was not available in the type of room we booked (the older un-renovated rooms). I told them I had really preferred a king over 2 queens because it was our first real vacation together (aside from a night at Disneyland). Rather than stick us with two beds, the women upgraded us for free to the very large and renovated widescreen rooms, with an extra seating area.
Awesome.
I knew at that moment it would be a special trip.
Excalibur didn’t let us down. Everyone was so kind and pleasant and when I accidentally flooded the bathroom (it had a handicap shower and I laid down on the drain) rather than get mad at me, they apologized and offered to upgrade us again. I declined the offer. It was, after all, my fault.
The experience was so magical and perfect that I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else in Vegas. They had been so wonderful, and memorable and that is what I wanted my wedding to be.
This time, we booked the renovated widescreen room straightaway. It was beautiful and I didn’t want to risk it with an older room on my honeymoon.
The chapel is stunning, and the coordinator takes care of all the details for us. Flowers are even included in the package.

Oh, and did I mention the pool? It has slides.
Everything just fell into place so nicely and I couldn’t be happier that I am about to marry my knight in shining armor…er….wizard….in a castle.
