I had an amazing and awesome week in PA, but I am sorry to admit that my wedding diet and workout regime went to shit while I was away.
I had really planned to go for at least a couple runs while I was away, and try to order salads instead of french fries, but basically….I didn’t want to.
It wasn’t all bad. I did get the side salad instead of fries once, and even loaded up on the salad bar one day. And at the big family BBQ the Sunday we were in town I had three helpings of garden salad and other greens.
The rest of the week was pretty much a wash though. Primanti Brothers, Hot Wings, Onion Strips, Pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, bacon, fried mushrooms, stuffed mushrooms, french fries, cake, pie, brownies, more beer than I could count and a pierogi or two (or six).
And it was all so delicious.
But yesterday it was back to the grind (I know I have been back for three days but I seem to lack willpower….)!
I started off well. I went to the gym for 20 minutes on the treadmill, followed by an hour long pilates class. Oh, and I should mention, I don’t think I “get” pilates. I was so confused.
It is supposed to be all about teaching your body to move in new ways. Like kicking and bending all from the abs, and not the neck, back, shoulder or legs. I spent the whole class seriously confused, and if I’m honest, I don’t feel like I got much of a workout. Mostly, I was just lost.
The instructor was pretty cool though. She tried to give me a lot of coaching and was very sympathetic to my plight. It is apparently quite normal to not understand what the hell you are doing in the beginning, and she wants me to stick with it. She has a rocking body at 50, so it must work. I will figure it out eventually, I’m sure (I hope).
I had a power bar for breakfast and snacked on an apple and a handful of almonds on my way to work yesterday.
I grabbed a subway grilled chicken breast sub with tons of veggies for lunch/dinner and had a healthy choice meal once I got home around 10pm. Today is a long day, so no gym, but I will be on my feet at work all day, and I am bringing some more healthy choice meals to eat.
Only one and a half months until the Vegas wedding. Time to get sexy.
